Katie is a DeMontfort University graduate (BA Hons Arts Management & Performing Arts) and has worked in the arts sector in Birmingham since graduation in 2001, when she undertook a six-month voluntary internship at Symphony Hall. A varied career in arts education and youth arts provision led Katie back to Symphony Hall and the reopening of Town Hall in 2007, to lead the Education & Community program for both venues. The department works with more than 10,000 people each year and has a particular focus on building relationships with residents in Ladywood. Katie is committed to ensuring the young people of Birmingham have a voice and has volunteered for a number of schools and charities, helping with event management and the facilitation of young people in decision making.
