Darren Walker

Darren Walker, BYPY committee chairman, is an associate in the corporate team at law firm Cobbetts.

He joined Cobbetts in 2002 from Eversheds and his clients now include corporations, owner-managed businesses, management teams, private equity providers and venture capitalists.

Darren, 30, has a BA in Accounting and Law from Newcastle University and took the LPC at York College of Law. He is currently taking a year out of the office to study full-time for an MBA from Birmingham Business School at the University of Birmingham.

He relocated to Birmingham after he completed his LPC because it was close to his family home in Warwick but once in the city he found it was a great place to live and do business and somewhere that talented people could flourish.

This is Darren’s fourth year on the BYPY committee and next year he will take on the role of chairman of Birmingham Future, BYPY’s parent organisation. During his year as chairman of Birmingham Future he is planning to introduce entrepreneurship as one of his key themes.

When he is having a break from Birmingham future Darren enjoys playing rugby for Lordswood Dixonians RFC.
