About BYPY

Previous Winners

The BYPY awards are open to all those under 35 who work in a professional services capacity in the Birmingham postal code area. Please note, entries are now closed for BYPY 2010.

Entries can be submitted directly by individuals who wish to enter, or by colleagues/clients wishing to nominate an individual.

Nominations are invited for each of the following 6 categories:

COMMUNICATIONS
Covers all areas of business support such as marketing, journalism, PR, IT, telecommunications, management consultancy and administration whether within an in-house department or individual business.

ENTREPRENEURIAL
Open to anyone who has successfully established their own business in one of the other five sectors. All entrants will need to provide evidence of a proven trading history along with a business biography including details such as key customers, industry recognition or accreditation and any other information providing detail of the trading success of their particular business.

FINANCIAL SERVICES
Includes those who provide financial services or advice on finance including accountants, bankers, financial planners, stockbrokers and investment providers.

INSPIRING LEADER
The Inspiring Leader award is designed to recognise exemplary figures within the professional community whose effect can be measured by their impact upon others; be it employees, colleagues or clients. Someone who has inspired and mentored the region's young professionals over the years, who leads change – and takes people with them and who demonstrates a strong commitment to the success of Birmingham Future and the City of Birmingham generally.
 
LEGAL
Including not only solicitors, barristers and patent attorneys, but also anyone who provides a legal service within a company. Also covered are lecturers at degree, LPC, CPE, Bar School or any other professional qualification level.

PROPERTY & CONSTRUCTION
Covers surveyors, architects, project managers and developers together with property letting agents and those involved in commercial and domestic sales.

RECRUITMENT & TRAINING
Covers those in recruitment and training roles such as recruitment or training consultants, personnel and human resources, whether in an individual business or in-house department.
