Martina Fajksova

"I think Birmingham is one of the most welcoming cities in the world. Someone once told me that it is a city of opportunity and I completely agree."

Martina Fajksova, currently in her third year on the BYPY committee, is a sales manager at the Hyatt Regency, specialising in corporate travel.

Since graduating from the University of Sheffield with a degree in Business Management and Organisation, Martina has worked in several sales and marketing roles for companies around the UK including Monarch Airlines, Hart Property Consultancy & Associates and The Living Room.

She also spent two years as events co-ordinator for Birmingham Future, BYPY’s parent organisation, helping to organise up to ten corporate events a month.

Martina, who is originally from the Czech Republic, believes Birmingham is the UK’s friendliest city, offering opportunities for everyone.

In her free time, Martina enjoys travelling and experiencing different cultures (Sardinia, Jamaica and New York are some of her favourite destinations). She is also an enthusiastic sportswoman, playing tennis and volleyball, and surfing and snowboarding when she gets the chance.
