BYPY Committee

"Birmingham is without a doubt the second city and it offers everything you need professionally and personally."

Robert Laugharne, 28, is a solicitor in law firm Shoosmiths’ corporate team. He joined Shoosmiths in 2007 from Bevan Brittan, where he spent two years as a trainee having moved to Birmingham from Sydney, where he worked for Allens Arthur Robinson.

Rob studied at Chester College of Law and achieved a distinction in his Legal Practice Course.

He was drawn to Birmingham by its second city status and has since found that it offers everything he needs professionally and socially.

He became a member of the Birmingham Young Professional of the Year committee in 2008, and juggles his committee responsibilities with playing rugby for Lordswood Dixonians RFC. Rob is a keen golfer and he also enjoys football and travelling in his free time.
