About me
Born in the Wordsley in the West Midlands, I attended Moreton Hall an all girls’ boarding school in Shropshire until 18 and then went on to study European Business at Loughborough University, with a brief 18 month spell working in a marketing agency in Paris before coming back to Birmingham in 2002/3.

I am now co-founder, shareholder and client services director of BHMG Marketing, a multi-disciplined marketing agency based in Birmingham City Centre.

My commitments outside the “9-5” include:

Chair of the St Basils North Worcestershire Development Committee;
A member of the Birmingham Future Community Development Committee;
A member of the fundraising committee for Elmhurst School of Dance, Birmingham
A mentor to girls at Moreton Hall School in Shropshire.
And I like to think a good friend to put the worlds to right with over a glass of red!

What am I looking for from BYPY candidates?
I have no doubt at all that the calibre of candidates for BYPY 2010 is going to be exceptional. I am looking for people who are passionate and full of energy and determination, not just in relation to their own career and professional lives but also in regards to the Birmingham and West Midlands Society as a whole. I am a great believer that people can make things happen and change and therefore we can all have an impact in determining the future of our City and wider region – it just involves focus and the ability to believe that the impossible is possible!

Why I enjoy working in Birmingham
I’ve always said that one of the things I love most about Birmingham is that it is small enough to put your arms around it but large enough to attract talent and inward investment. This characteristic of Birmingham makes it so enjoyable to work here – I still find it amazing how people are always willing to listen and help and “open doors” for you when they can. It really is wonderful to work in a city where the culture is too support one and other and work together rather than working against each other.

Thoughts of BYPY 10 years on
It’s a great achievement that everybody who has been involved in BYPY from the very start to the current day should feel very proud of. BYPY is such a unique but incredibly rewarding concept – it has opened up so many doors for me personally and I have experienced so much that I would never have had the opportunity to experience if it wasn’t for winning BYPY 2010 – so I thank everyone who has ever been involved for giving up their own free time to ensure that BYPY runs so successfully ever year and let’s raise a glass on the night to BYPY and hope that we will be doing the same in 10 years time for its 20th anniversary!
